"The earthlings? and the Queens Of The Stone Age are sort of twins. Two bands that've been so closely linked through the years (even they sound radically different) since the first ever QOTSA album, recorded at the Rancho de la Luna, Fred Drake's own studio (Fred died of cancer in 2002). The earthlings? is pretty hard to label and impossible to pigeonhole. As if a Krautrock band was playing some acoustic Stoner with weird electronic textures and stuff.
